The Friendly Briefs was a start-up based in Rochester, NY which I co-founded in 2006. We build a social networking site which used the metaphor of private online newspapers to help groups of friends and family stay in touch. The site was built with Ruby on Rails, and had a focus on usable interface design to accommodate users who might not be familiar with web conventions. It is now offline due to the founders having moved on to new jobs, and all that remains is a goodbye letter.
